Rock Spring Children’s Center was founded on serving the needs of our community. Our teachers and administrators reflect this spirit.

While the vast majority of our efforts are focused on creating a great place for kids each day and serving the families in our school community, we are also engaged as leaders in local childcare organizations.

Child Care Association Involvement

All members of Rock Spring’s administrative team are members of the Organization of Child Care Directors of Montgomery County (OCCD) and the Maryland State Child Care Association. RSCC Executive Director Carrie Meyer was elected to the OCCD Board of Directors in 2014 and has served as co-chair since 2016. OCCD brings together directors and key leaders from many of our county’s childcare programs so they can learn and support each other in creating great childcare environments for Montgomery County families.

RSCC President Shaun Rose co-founded the Montgomery County chapter of the Maryland State Child Care Association in 2016 and was elected by childcare providers across the state to serve as the first vice president of the state association from 2016 to 2018.

Montgomery County Commission on Child Care

Shaun Rose was appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the County Council to serve as a commissioner on the Montgomery County Commission on Child Care from 2010 to 2016, serving as chair from 2013 to 2014.
